The Object Translation Manager (OTM) is our flagship add-on to SAP® ERP systems which allows you to manage the translation of various system objects outside the system. The add-on can collect translation-relevant entries of short text objects (interface texts) based on different selection criteria (individual objects, objects in a transport request, objects in collection(s), se63 translation work lists), and export them into an XML file. Translation itself can be performed offline with standard CAT tools like RCWinTransTM. RCWinTransTM provides a special XML parser for the files created with OTM, and supports the work of the translators with functions like the usage of shared TMs, spell-checkers and QA-checker. The translated file can be uploaded to the system again to distribute the translations; our add-on takes care of the status of the individual objects and strings to avoid inconsistency caused by changes in the system.
Used together with our Advanced Translation Statistics (ATS) and Proposal Pool Builder (PPB), you can manage the whole cycle of system translation based on the standard concepts of the system, harmonized with the development processes but without the need for knowledge of special system tools and system access for the individual translators. In case you do not want to set up the standard se63 translation environment, change management can be solved using RCWinTransTM.

By using the functions of the standard CAT tools like concordance search, glossaries, spell-checkers and QA checks, you can achieve better consistency and quality during translation. The translations can be checked and proofread before it is uploaded and distributed in the system.
Control over the content
One of the main problems of system translation via the standard translation tools is that you as an owner of the system have no control over the quality of translation. Once a translation is entered, it is very complicated to make global changes e.g. if wrong terminology was used. By using OTM, you can check the quality of translation and perform changes offline before uploading the translated files into the system.
Easy distribution
Regardless of whether you have only a few lines to translate in-house at your different subsidiaries or have to distribute large numbers of lines for different target languages among professional agencies, handling the packages is easy and efficient. There is no special administration effort on the translation side.
Full compliance
The OTM add-on works in full compliance with the standard SAP® NetWeaver® environment. You can integrate it easily into your own development and customization processes.
Change management
By using OTM, you can choose: use the standard SAP® NetWeaver® translation environment or the capabilities of RC-WinTrans® for change and delta management.
